Earth is under attack! Fight your way from Jupiter to Earth and defend it from  invading alien swarms.

SPACE WAR is a 2D shooter created for Michigan State University's Game Design course. This game expands upon the tutorial project in a number of ways:

1. Fight through three planet-themed levels: Jupiter, Mars, and Earth. Each level presents different combinations of enemies and they become progressively harder. The levels reuse some assets from the Solar System project and use a custom skybox.

2. Keep track of your resources. You'll need to pickup items to replenish your health and ammunition to keep up your fight against the aliens. Health depletes as you take damage and ammo depletes as you shoot. Items that replenish health and ammo  will spawn in the level as you play.

3. A unique UI gives the game a theme and identity. It uses a new typeface, customizes all menu screens (Main Menu, Pause, Game Over, Level Complete), and displays meters that report your health and ammo levels.

4. A thrilling chiptune soundtrack builds up to the final battle to save Earth. All background music and some effect sounds (Level Complete, Game Over, and Item Pickup) have been customized, but player and enemy effect sounds have not been changed.

Thank you for playing SPACE WAR. Go Earth!
